Some of Joi's mp3's
Here are some mp3 renderings of some of the stuff that
has happened during the development of vst-plugins here. You can
download all of them individually or you can use this playlist.
Disclaimer:
These tracks are not intended as a showcase of any musical skills. I am perfectly aware of my deficiency in the songwriting department.
CopyCat [3:10] 128 kbs, stereo, 2.9 MB
I've been to too many Gus Gus concerts.
Helga Demo #8 [0:59] 256 kbs, stereo, 1.82 MB
Very analogue stuff. Besides the drumloop, everything is Helga.
Submarine [2:30] 256 kbs, stereo, 4.59 MB
Overdrive and massive reverb on random notes from Helga; not exactly "easy listening".
Highpass [1:47] 256 kbs, stereo, 3.27 MB
Basic highpass filter in action.
Central Booking [4:51] 128 kbs, stereo, 4.44 MB
Some samples spun around a pad sound that came out of the earliest
incarnation of the oscillators of Helga.
Someone's Angry [3:58] 192 kbs, stereo, 5.45 MB
Here I was testing a reverb algorithm. There are absolutely no virtual analogs in this track.
The Dark [1:38] 256 kbs, stereo, 3.00 MB
A single instance of Helga recorded live and heavily reverberated (I was testing the reverb)
then played in reverse at half-speed and layered with the same track
played normally.
The Light [2:00] 192 kbs, stereo, 2.76 MB
A single instance of Helga recorded live, reverberated and reversed and reverberated again.
Here I was testing changes I made to the delay effect in Helga. I recommend listening to this on repeat while reading Murakami's Wind-up Bird Chronicles.
Timesnort [1:55] 128 kbs, stereo, 1.75 MB
Don't know what to say about this... horrible really, the snaps are by design, your speakers are not broken.
Loop Medley [3:38] 192 kbs, stereo, 4.99 MB
Six loops that never made into a track spliced together. Aside from the sample playback and host-based EQ, there is no software used other than software we've made ourselves: release version of Helga and Free Delay and beta versions of Hertha and Elinborg. This was mixed in headphones... go figure.
